A vintage Piaget Protocole Reference 9154 in a yellow gold case with a tiger's eye dial.

A collector’s record.

I collect watches - mostly vintage, though I'll pick up anything that catches my eye, old or new. It started off as nothing more than collecting, but at some point I started digging deeper on pieces: researching, trying to place a watch in context, figuring out why something was made the way it was - and writing felt like the natural way to keep track of it.

That's really what this site is. Some posts are longer, more researched - the kind of thing I'd want to read if I were trying to learn about a watch myself. Others are just quick musings, or a piece I found at a market that caught my eye. No fixed format or topic. If it's interesting to me, I may write about it here.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not trying to position myself as one - I just love this stuff. Every so often I'll also sell something from my own collection, or a find along the way that I couldn't pass up.
